KYA Fasteners supplies 15-degree wire collated coil nails for pallet and crate manufacturing, timber framing, siding, fencing, sheathing and selected roofing work. Wire-welded collation holds nails in coil form for feeding through compatible pneumatic coil nailers. The available nail size, head design, shank profile and surface finish must be selected for the fastening application and the tool being used.
Options shown in the KYA range include smooth, ring and screw shank nails; bright, electro-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized finishes; and selected stainless steel nails for corrosion-sensitive projects. Contractors, distributors and industrial buyers can compare reference dimensions below or send an exact specification for a quotation.

Wire-collated nails are joined by thin welding wires and wound into a coil. They are not the same as plastic sheet collated nails, which use plastic carriers. A coil nailer must support the specified collation system, magazine configuration, fastener diameter and length.

KYA provides carbon steel coil nails as well as selected stainless steel products. Material and protective finish should be chosen according to the substrate, service environment and project requirements. For exposed timber or treated wood, confirm the relevant fastening and corrosion-protection requirements before ordering.
| Application | Common fastener characteristics | Selection consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Pallet and crate manufacturing | Smooth, ring or screw shank; selected red-coated wire coil nails | Check wood species, coil size, nailer feed system and production requirements. |
| Timber framing and sheathing | Longer 15° wire collated nails; smooth or ring shank | Use nail dimensions and specifications approved for the structural connection. |
| Siding and fencing | Selected ring or screw shank nails in suitable protective finishes | Match corrosion protection to timber treatment, exposure and installation instructions. |
| Roofing and shingles | Shorter, large-head 15° roofing coil nails | Use a compatible roofing nailer; standard framing nail heads may not be suitable. |
| Subflooring and decking | Smooth, ring or screw shank depending on design | Confirm the fastening schedule, substrate, corrosion resistance and tool compatibility. |
A 15° angle alone does not make two products interchangeable. Nail head diameter, shank diameter, length, wire-collation configuration and tool magazine requirements also matter.

Bright steel coil nails are used primarily for dry interior work, pallet production and applications where a specified corrosion-resistant finish is not required. Colored or drive-assist coatings should not be treated as equivalent to zinc galvanizing or stainless steel.
Electro-galvanized nails have a zinc coating. They may suit selected dry or less aggressive service environments, but their suitability for exterior exposure, preservative-treated wood and specific building materials must be checked against project requirements.
Hot-dip galvanized coil nails have a zinc coating selected for many exterior wood-fastening applications. Coating specification, intended exposure and compatibility with treated lumber should be confirmed before purchase.
KYA also lists selected stainless steel siding and roofing coil nails. Grade 304 or 316 can be evaluated where increased corrosion resistance is necessary. Final grade selection depends on moisture, salt exposure, adjacent materials and the governing project specification.
Ask About Material and Finish Options

Smooth shank nails are a standard option for pallet work, wooden packaging and general timber fastening. Fastener holding performance depends on diameter, penetration, wood density and the joint design.
Ring shank nails have circumferential ridges that can improve withdrawal resistance in wood compared with otherwise similar smooth shank nails. Annular thread is a commonly used description of this ringed shank style; the exact profile should be checked in the product drawing.
Screw shank nails have a helical shank profile and are commonly selected for pallet and wooden-packaging applications. They are still driven as nails; a screw-shank nail should not be confused with a drive-head coil nail-screw.
Use the size chart below to review common combinations of shank diameter, nail length, shank style and 15° wire collation. Contact KYA for confirmation of the exact finish, nail profile and packing details for your selected item.
| Shank Diameter (in.) | Nail Lengths (in.) | Shank Styles | Listed Finishes | Collation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.080" | 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2" | Smooth, Ring, Screw | Bright, HDG, EG | 15 Degree Wire Coil |

| 0.131" | 2-1/2", 3", 3-1/4", 3-1/2" | Smooth, Ring, Screw | Bright, HDG, EG | 15 Degree Wire Coil |
Finish abbreviations: EG = Electro-Galvanized; HDG = Hot-Dip Galvanized. Dimensions and applicable options should be confirmed for the specific product code, nailer and order. Roofing-specific short lengths and other specialty sizes may be listed separately from this reference chart.

Wire collated coil nails are used in pallet and crate production, timber framing, sheathing, siding, fencing and specific roofing systems. The nail design and installation tool must match the intended application.
The 15° description refers to the nominal coil collation angle. It does not establish nail length, wire spacing, head size, coil capacity or compatibility with every 15° tool.
Not automatically. The two collation systems use different carriers, and nailers may be designed for one system only. Check the manufacturer’s specified feed type and accepted fastener sizes.
Smooth, ring and screw shank nails are all used in wooden packaging. The preferred profile depends on the pallet design, timber, required holding performance, nailer and relevant customer specifications.
The terms frequently refer to a similar ringed nail-shank design. The exact ridge profile may vary; compare the dimensions or technical drawing when matching an existing fastener.
Bright steel nails generally lack the corrosion protection expected for exposed or wet conditions. For exterior work, select a specified galvanized or stainless steel product suitable for the project.
Both use zinc for corrosion protection, but application methods and typical coating characteristics differ. Confirm the required coating standard and service environment before selecting a finish.
KYA lists selected 304/316 stainless steel coil nail products, including roofing and siding applications. Buyers should specify the grade, size, finish and tool requirements when requesting a quotation.
The size chart lists 0.080–0.131 in. shank diameters with matching lengths from 1-1/4 to 3-1/2 in. Specialty roofing nails and other product variants may use different sizes.
Check the nailer model and manual for permitted collation type, angle, length, shank diameter, nail head and coil configuration. Share the tool model and current nail specification when requesting a match.
Coil count and carton packing depend on the nail diameter, length, head, coil configuration and product configuration. Request the exact packaging details for the selected item rather than assuming a universal count.
Provide nail dimensions, shank and head type, material, finish, collation, coil/carton packing, end use, destination and estimated purchasing quantity. KYA can review the specification and quote accordingly.
KYA Fasteners supplies coil nails, pneumatic nailers and related fastening products for construction professionals, pallet and packaging manufacturers, wholesale distributors and importers.
