304 stainless steel provides substantially greater corrosion resistance than untreated carbon steel and standard electro-galvanized finish nails. It is useful for exterior trim, humid environments, moisture-sensitive assemblies and wood species where corrosion staining from ordinary steel fasteners is undesirable.
