KYA FST32 15 Gauge Galvanized Concrete Finish Nails are hardened steel straight-strip fasteners designed for compatible 15GA concrete finish nailers. The featured FST32 size has a 32mm / 1-1/4 inch length, 1.8mm shank diameter and approximately 2.8mm head size.
FST32 nails are intended for fastening suitable trim, skirting, furring, light-gauge components and other finishing materials to compatible concrete, brick or masonry substrates. Fastener performance depends on base-material strength, attachment thickness, required penetration and the exact concrete nailer used.
The current KYA FST Series uses hardened carbon steel with a galvanized finish and straight glue-collated strips. FST32 packaging is 50 nails per strip and 1,500 nails per box.

FST32 packing correction: one older KYA table shows “0 pcs” for FST32 strips. The current FST family data lists 50 nails per strip and 1,500 nails per box, which is consistent with the surrounding FST sizes.
FST concrete finish nails are hardened straight-strip nails used with compatible pneumatic concrete finish nailers. Compared with conventional soft finish nails, the hardened steel construction is intended for driving into harder receiving materials such as suitable concrete, brick and masonry.
The FST format combines a relatively small finish-style head with hardened steel construction, allowing installers to attach trim and finishing components to masonry substrates while keeping the fastening point more compact than many large-head concrete fasteners.
FST nails should not be confused with ordinary 15GA DA or FN wood finish nails. Hardened concrete nails and conventional finish nails have different material properties, strip geometry and intended tool systems.
The 32mm / 1-1/4 inch length sits near the middle of the KYA FST18–FST50 range. It can be useful where shorter FST18, FST20 or FST25 nails do not provide sufficient available penetration but a 40–50mm nail would be unnecessarily long.
The nominal 1.8mm shank is part of KYA's 15GA FST specification. Hardened steel helps the fastener resist bending during driving, but successful fastening still depends on concrete density, aggregate, nailer energy and correct nail length.
The approximately 2.8mm head is suitable for finish-style fastening where a relatively small visible fixing point is desired. The head size and nailer driver must match the intended FST tool system.
FST32 nails are supplied in straight strips for automatic feeding through compatible concrete finish nailers. Stable strip geometry and bonding are important for reliable feeding, but tool condition and correct magazine adjustment also affect jamming performance.
The galvanized finish provides corrosion protection compared with untreated carbon steel. Exact suitability for humid, exterior or aggressive environments depends on coating specification and project requirements.

FST concrete finish nails are commonly used for selected skirting and baseboard installation where the trim is being attached to a suitable concrete, brick or masonry backing. Adhesive may also be used where required by the installation method.
The 32mm length can be considered for relatively thin furring strips or battens where sufficient nail length remains to penetrate the base material. Thicker timber may require FST35, FST40, FST45 or FST50.
Compatible hardened concrete-nail systems are used for selected light steel studs, runners, channels and profiles fixed to concrete or masonry. Confirm the metal thickness, base material and nailer specification before installation.
FST-style concrete nails can be used for appropriate aluminum molding and finishing profiles where the material design allows direct mechanical fastening to the receiving substrate.
Selected trim, molding and finish components can be fastened directly to suitable masonry using an FST concrete finish nailer when the 32mm nail provides the required penetration.
FST32 can be used for suitable non-structural attachment work. Structural framing, load-bearing connections, safety-critical fixtures and engineered anchoring should not be specified solely from this product description and should follow the applicable fastening design or approval.

Tool compatibility should be determined using the complete fastener specification rather than the 15GA designation alone. The nailer must accept hardened 15GA straight-strip nails with a 32mm length and the corresponding FST head, shank and collation geometry.
| Tool / System | Compatibility Guidance |
|---|---|
| Tacwise EHS50V | Tacwise lists the EHS50V for Type 15G hardened finish nails from 15–50mm, so the 32mm FST32 length falls within its published range. Confirm strip geometry before production use. |
| JITOOL CS15/50 | JITOOL lists its FST15–FST50 Mini Concrete Nail family for the CS15/50 tool, including FST32. |
| Other 15GA Concrete Finish Nailers | Confirm accepted length, shank diameter, head size, straight-strip geometry and hardened-nail specification in the tool manual. |
| Conventional 15GA DA / FN Wood Finish Nailers | Do not assume compatibility. DA/FN angled finish nail systems are different from FST hardened concrete nail systems. |
The correct FST length depends on the thickness of the material being attached and the penetration required in the concrete or masonry substrate. Do not select a longer nail only because it appears stronger.
| Selection Factor | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Attachment Thickness | Part of the nail length is consumed before the fastener reaches the base material. |
| Required Embedment | The remaining nail length must provide adequate penetration into the receiving substrate. |
| Concrete Strength | Higher-strength concrete may behave differently during direct fastening and may require a different fastener or tool setup. |
| Aggregate and Masonry Type | Aggregate hardness, brick type and block structure influence penetration and holding behavior. |
| Nailer Energy | The tool must have the driving capability required for the selected hardened nail and substrate. |
| Edge Distance | Fastening too close to an edge can increase the risk of substrate cracking or breakout. |

Galvanizing provides a protective zinc-based surface on the hardened carbon-steel fastener. The current KYA page lists silver and yellow finishes, but does not specify zinc coating thickness or a corrosion test duration.
For normal interior finish work, standard galvanized FST nails may provide suitable corrosion protection. For permanently wet, coastal, chemically aggressive or other demanding environments, request the exact coating specification before selecting the fastener.
Concrete is not a uniform material. Compressive strength, aggregate, age and substrate condition can significantly affect whether a hardened nail drives cleanly, bends, stops short or causes surface breakout.
| Before Production Use | What to Check |
|---|---|
| Trial Fastening | Test the actual FST32 nail, tool and substrate before repetitive installation. |
| Head Seating | Confirm the head seats correctly without excessive countersinking or damaging the attached component. |
| Nail Condition | Inspect for bending, breakage or incomplete penetration. |
| Base-Material Damage | Check for cracking, spalling or edge breakout. |
| Required Holding Performance | Load-sensitive work should use documented fastening data rather than relying only on nail dimensions. |

KYA FST32 is a 15 gauge concrete finish nail with a 32mm / 1-1/4 inch length, approximately 1.8mm shank diameter and 2.8mm head size.
FST identifies the hardened concrete finish-nail family and 32 identifies the nominal 32mm nail length.
The current KYA FST family data lists 50 nails per strip. An older FST32 table cell showing 0 pcs is a data error and should be corrected.
KYA currently lists 1,500 nails per box.
The KYA product specification describes the FST Series as hardened carbon-steel concrete nails intended to provide greater resistance to bending during driving into suitable dense substrates.
Yes. The featured FST32 product uses a galvanized finish. The current page lists silver and yellow surface colors depending on configuration.
KYA's current product pages contain conflicting descriptions of the FST point profile, including chisel-point and bullet-point references. Confirm the current FST32 production drawing before publishing a definitive point specification.
Typical uses include selected skirting, baseboards, furring strips, light-gauge tracks, aluminum profiles and interior finishing components attached to suitable concrete, brick or masonry.
Yes, when the baseboard thickness and substrate allow the 32mm fastener to provide the required penetration. Adhesive may also be used depending on the installation method.
They can be considered for relatively thin furring strips when sufficient penetration remains after passing through the wood. Thicker battens may require a longer FST size.
Do not treat FST32 as a structural anchor solely from its product description. Structural and load-critical fastening should use the specified fastener system, documented load data and applicable engineering requirements.
Tacwise publishes the EHS50V for Type 15G hardened finish nails from 15mm to 50mm, so the 32mm FST32 length falls within that range. Confirm the exact strip geometry before large-volume use.
JITOOL lists its FST concrete-nail range, including FST32, for the CS15/50 system. When substituting another manufacturer's fastener, verify complete nail dimensions and magazine fit.
No compatibility should be assumed. DA and FN wood finish nailers use different strip angles and fastener geometry from the straight hardened FST concrete-nail system.
Concrete strength and aggregate can significantly affect direct fastening. Test the actual tool and FST32 fastener in the substrate before repetitive installation instead of assuming universal performance in all concrete grades.
Choose the length according to the thickness of the attached component and required penetration into the substrate. FST32 provides 32mm total length; thicker components may require FST35 or FST40, while thinner materials may use FST25 or shorter sizes.
Contact KYA Fasteners regarding current sample availability. Testing should use the intended nailer, actual attachment material and real concrete or masonry substrate before bulk purchasing.
